Brookwood Cemetery will shortly embark on a programme of Rhododendron removal throughout the south side of the cemetery. This ambitious project will be carried out by South Bucks Tree Surgeons Ltd and overseen by Surrey Wildlife Trust.

Rhododendron ponticum is a non-native, invasive species and the purpose of removal is to allow native ground vegetation to flourish. This will improve the habitat value of the woodland for wildlife and prevent encroachment onto graves.

BROOKWOOD CEMETERY RHODODENDRON CLEARANCE PROJECTIn order to keep visitors safe, some areas will need to be closed to access while work is ongoing. This will not prevent burials from taking place.

We apologise for any inconvenience you may experience while works are ongoing. We appreciate your co-operation and understanding whilst this important work is carried out. Should you have any questions regarding this work programme, please contact the Cemetery Manager on 01483 472222.
