British Military Cemetery
The British Military Cemetery is administered by the Commonwealth War Graves Commission. It is the oldest part of the military cemeteries at Brookwood and was originally set aside in 1917 for the burial of soldiers, sailors and nurses who died in the London Military District.
The following countries are represented in this part of the military cemeteries: the United Kingdom, Australia, British West Indies, Canada, India, Newfoundland, New Zealand and South Africa. Later the burial ground was extended to accommodate casualties from the Second World War.
