Guilds and Organisations known to have used Brookwood Cemetery

This list has been compiled from our registers. The list is not necessarily exhaustive, but may help you decide whether or not to approach us for a search.

The London Necropolis Company encouraged guilds and similar organisations to use Brookwood Cemetery as a burial ground, so that those who had been united in life would not be separated in death. Often separate areas were set aside for these groups. Other organisations, such as hospitals, workhouses and prisons, used Brookwood for burial but without designated areas being allocated.
